In Bwindi there are over 400 mountain gorillas compared to Virunga massive which has over 604 mountain gorillas Mgahinga National park is the smallest National Park in Uganda that lies in the Virunga massive which comprises of three national parks that is Virunga national park in democratic republic of Congo, Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda and Mgahinga National park in Uganda. a total of 604 mountain gorillas are found in Virunga massive.

Tracking these giants in their home the jungle is an exciting activity to undertake because they are used to seeing people around them though you need to be physically fit in order to enjoy the experience because its is strenuous since it involves trekking up and down the hilly forest mountains. It also features the excursion to the Ngamba island one of the islands on lake Victoria that is a sanctuary for chimpanzee was founded by jane goodall. you may also take part in feeding these chimpanzee. It also features a visit to Lake Mburo National Park where you will undertake a game drive where you have chances of seeing a variety of wild animals like : Zebras, Impalas, Buffaloes, water-bucks among others. lake mburo is a mosaic habitat for rocky outcrops, dry hills, open and wooded savanna, forest galleries swamps and lakes. Day 1: Arrival –Entebbe International Airport

Upon your arrival at the airport you will be picked up by our company Guide who will warmly welcome you to Uganda and drive you to your hotel. Overnight at The Boma.

Day 2 : Ngamba island excursion-Lake Mburo National Park

After your breakfast you will embark on your tour to Ngamba island to visit the chimpanzees. Ngamba is 40 hectares big and its situated 23 km south east of Entebbe on lake Victoria. You will travel by boat up to the island.there are over 48 chimps here .the best times to see these chimps is during the feeding times from 11:00 and 14:30 you can watch them as they play and feed any you may take as many photos as you want.

This sanctuary is being managed by many organisations like the Jane Goodall institute and the wildlife Education center Uganda, the Born Free foundation among others. After lunch you will drive to lake mburo National Park where by you will arrive in the late evening.overnight at Rwakobo Rock lodge.

Day 3 : Lake Mburo – Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

After breakfast you will drive to Mgahinga National Park driving through the beautiful highlands of kigezi. In the evening you will undertake a village walk by visiting the Batwa, the traditional healer.through this walk you get to know in detail how the local people live and carry out their day today activities. It is really very exciting and interesting to interact with the locals here who are always ready to welcome visitors.overnight at travelers rest hotel

Day 4 : Gorilla Trekking Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

After breakfast you will connect to the park headquarters of Nyakagezi to undertake gorilla trekking. The briefing takes place every day at 8:00 am and 8:30 commences the trekking. You will be distributed in groups of 8 people, you have one hour with the gorillas. The trekking takes between 4 and 8 hours, trekking is exciting but also very tiring so you must be physically fit enough. You need rain-gears, bottled water, firm trekking shoes, packed lunch, hat, sun screen in order to be successful. In there are over 400 habituated gorillas which are distributed in various family groups. Retreat from the activity. Overnight at travelers rest hotel

Day 5 : Mgahinga National Park – Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast you will drive back to lake mburo National Park passing through the beautiful terraced farming of the kigezi highlands. In the evening you will undertake a game drive in the park for the search of animals. In this Park you are likely to spot many herds of zebras, Buffaloes, giraffes, warthogs, water-bucks, Leopards, Impalas, Elands and many many. For a bird watcher this is the paradise for bird watching where by over 300 bird species are registered here, one can also have a boat ride on lake mburo and view many hippos, crocodiles and many waterbirds. Retreat from the activity and drive back to your lodge. Overnight at lake mburo safari lodge.

Day 6 : Lake Mburo – Entebbe International Airport

After breakfast you will drive back to Entebbe crossing over the equator and having a stop over for photography and souvenirs, there are so many souvenir shops selling crafts with African style. Later you will drive to Entebbe and catch your flight back home.
