This 10 day Primate tracking Uganda offers tracking in Bwindi national park as the highlight of this safari,there are 1004 mountain gorillas left in the world ,400 are found in Bwindi and the 604 are found in the Virunga massive which consists of three countries ,Uganda ,Rwanda and congo. Tracking gorillas is an amazing adventure that when you have an encounter with these giants in their home you wish to come back and do the same.

it also offers chimpanzee tracking in kibale national park the home of over 1400 chimpanzee but only one group has been habituated for the purpose of tourism ,apart from chimpanzees you will also have a chance to view other 12 primate species like black and white colobus monkeys,baboons ,l’Hoest monkeys,red colobus monkeys among others ,over 300 butterfly species are recorded here and 300 bird species are found in this tropical rain-forest. You shall also visit Queen Elizabeth national park which is uganda’s most scenic and diverse park and has a wonderful location on the floor of the Albertine rift valley and at the foot of the 5109 m Rwenzori mountains ,you shall have a game drive here,a boat trip on kazinga channel and viewing of the tree climbing lions in the ishasha region.

It further takes you to Murchison falls national park the largest national park of Uganda that has a magnificent waterfall ,the river Nile presses here through a 7m gorge ,you shall undertake a game drive in the northern part of the park,a boat safari on the nile to the base of the falls and you shall also visit the top of the falls which offers stunning views of the park. SAFARI HIGHLIGHT

Day one :Transfer to the Uganda safari destination of Murchison falls National Park, make a stop at zziwa Rhino sanctuary for white rhino tracking, enroute and visit the top of the falls on arrival.
Day two: Undertake game viewing /game drive in the morning, in Murchison falls national park and after lunch, you undertake a Launch cruise along the River Nile.
Day three : Transfer from Murchison falls National park to fort portal area in Kibale National park.
Day four: Undertake chimpanzee trekking and after lunch transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Day Five: Do game viewing and afternoon have a Launch cruise on kazinga channel.
Day six: Transfer to Bwindi via ishasha sector for the tree climbing lions.
Day seven :Undertake gorilla trekking and relax at the lodge.
Day Eight :Transfer from Bwindi to lake bunyonyi and have the whole recreation encounter the beautiful Lake
Day Nine: Transfer from Lake bunyonyi to Lake mburo national park and undertake an afternoon boat on the lake.
Day ten: Do a morning game walk or game drive and transfer to Entebbe international airport.

Day 1 : Murchison Falls National Park –Rhinos zziwa

Very early your guide will pick you from your hotel/lodge and brief you first about the safari then you will transfer to Murchison falls national park (311km ) about 5 hours drive , on your way you will visit the Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary where white rhinos are kept in a natural environment. the next stop over will be at the Kabalega Dinner or Masindi Town for your lunch and then arrive in the evening at the top of the falls where the worlds longest river is forced to follow through a 7 metres wide arrow rocky guage before ferociously plunging down 43 metres .from here you will take a ferry across the river to the northern section for relaxation , dinner and overnight.murchison river lodge

Day 2 : Murchison Falls National Park

You will have an early morning safari towards the northern river bank in search for cape buffaloes, elephants, bohor reedbuck, lions , leopards, rotschild giraffes , jacksons heert beasts ,water bucks .Return to the lodge for relaxation till you take your lunch . After lunch you go for a boat cruise to the bottom of the Murchison falls where the park derives its name from .
This boat trip along the Nile is the highlight of a tour in Murchison Falls National Park and is so fascinating . it gives you the chance to have a close and personal interaction with the animals with over about 1000 hippos reported to be along this stretch of the river bank and numerous Nile crocodiles and a birdlife stunning with the brightly coloured king fishers and beeeaters dwelling along the river bank you are assured of a great adventure ,on your luck you may see a rare shoebill .the boat cruise you to the base of the falls to further your impressions of the falls and the nile at large.you driveback to your lodge for dinner.murchison river lodge

Day 3 : Kibale National park

Early in the morning after breakfast embark on the transfer to Kibale National Park 440 km about 9 hours drive through rural landscapes of Hoima and kagadi before approaching kyenjojo in the evening.The Lunch stop is in Hoima and you arrive in Fort portal in the evening for relaxation. You shall drive through many tea plantation. Overnight at chimpanzee forest guesthouse

Day 4 : Chimpanzee trekking –Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast early in the morning , transfer to the visitor station in kibale National Park at 8:00 am for a briefing before tracking the habituated chimps. These beautiful apes more closely related to humans than to other living creatures are a great adventure watching as they squabble and jump from tree to tree .
This forest is home to over 13 primates species include the red colobus, vervet monkeys, bush babies, the rare L’Hoest monkey ,blue monkey, bush-babies, grey mangabey, patus, plus baboons. Birders have close to 335 species recorded to watch including the endemic prirogrines ground thrush. The shady forest trails offer much delight to botanist and butterfly lovers , the forest elephants, smaller and hairier than the savannah ones, moves seasonally into the developed part of the park. Other mammals including the giant forest hog ,buffalo and antelope species like duiker are all that will spice your Uganda safari adventure. After lunch you will leave the park and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park driving past the magical sights before arriving Queen Elizabeth National Park in the evening for relaxation , dinner and overnight. Day 5 : game drive and boat trip on kazinga channel

Have an early game drive so as to spot the early risers such as the elusive leopards and spotted hyenas . the game drive also offers you possible views of lions, Buffaloes, elephants, waterbucks, Uganda kobs among others.

After the game drive return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation after which gather at Mweya jetty for an Afternoon Boat Ride along the kazinga channel to have a likely close look at hippos and crocodiles . The banks of the channel are also home to many bird species that include the saddle billed stork, pink backed pelicans pied and malachite kingfishers. Dinner and overnight at enganzi lodge

Day 6 : Transfer to bwindi

After an early morning breakfast , embark on your transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National park via Ishasha sector in the south of Queen Elizabeth National Park for the search of tree climbing Lions that tend to lie on the fig branches in the day time , settle for lunch in Ishasha and continue in the drive to reach Bwindi . overnight at lake mutanda resort

Day 7 : Gorilla Tracking- Bwindi Impenetrable National park

After a heavy breakfast with packed lunch you will transfer to the Park headquarters in the respective region where your gorilla permit is located for the briefing before embarking your Gorilla trekking at 8:30 .park guides will take you through the thick buttress root tree forest plus undergrowth tracking the gorillas.this 4-8 hours of trekking requires a reasonable degree of fitness , a pair of jungle shoes, once tracked interaction with the Gorillas as you listen to them grumble as well as taking photographs with them takes one hour. Day 8 : Bwindi –Lake Bunyonyi

After an early morning breakfast drive to bunyonyi transversing the kigezi highlands commonly known as the Switzerland of Uganda, upon arrival you embark on a boat ride with a wooden engine boat crushing exploring the calm waters of Bunyonyi the second deepest lake in Africa intercepted by counts of 29 islands some of which are inhabited. You have a chance to explore some of the islands and their communities including the Batwa populations with their rich heritage not forgetting the Bakiga natives. Day 9 : Lake Mburo National Park

Early morning after breakfast ,transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. 199 km about 4 hours making a lunch enroute at igongo Cultural Centre. 12 km from mbarara town, proceed to Lake Mburo National Park for an evening boat cruise on arrival or a game drive, if preferred whatever you chose you have an opportunity to encounter a range of wildlife including the Nile crocodiles and Hippos not forgetting birds like African fish eagle. Day 10 : Lake Mburo – Entebbe

After your early morning breakfast you will undertake a nature walk the most interesting game walks in the country that exposes you to various species of primates, birds, antelopes like Elands, impala, Topis, bushbucks, buffaloes, Rothschild giraffes, zebras, warthogs among others not forgetting the beautiful savannah landscape dotted with great acacia trees.

Retreat from activity and embark on the transfer to Kampala 240 km about 3-4 hours driving making a stop at the Uganda Equator crossing at kayabwe for magical photo shoots where one leg can be placed in north hemisphere and other remains in the south. it is also an impressive site for purchasing memorabilia to take back home as a remembrance for the safari in Uganda.
