Rwenzori Mountain National Park has fabouled mountains of the moon in RMNP one of uganda’s UNESCO heritage sites lies in western Uganda along the Congolese border where the snow-covered equatorial peaks rise to a height 5109m and the lower slopes are blanketed in moorland and rich montane forest . Most of the park is accessible only to hikers although the magnificent scenery and 19 Albertine Rift endemics would be an ample reward for birders .

Rwenzori Mountain National Park  protects  the eastern slopes and glacial peaks of the 120km long Rwenzori Mountains , a world class hiking and mountaineering destination.

Rewnzori climbing adventure provides a memorable and rewarding experience but in order to have a smooth flow it should be well   planned and every tour must be well planned.

The central circuit hike can take about 6 nights or seven days and then reaches an altitude of 14,000 ft  (4,267m ) above sea level .

Conditions on this mountain are quite challenging even to an experienced hiker as mountain Rwenzori is well known for its  steep  , un engeneered , and slipperly trails with frequent rainfall and cold temperatures , fog, muddy , steep terrain with a high altitude

Despite this its worth a try due to the exciting experience you will  attain , its dry period includes July-August . December – February  and so its relatively dry for inexperienced hikers.

At all seasons its rcommended that one should have a rain gear, a good sleeping bag,, a warm hat,pairs of gloves , heavy socks , gum boots , gaiters and a walking stick foreasy balance and support are plua s basic first aid kit.

Porters stay around the mountain thus help visitors carry their heavy equipments and food , leaving one with a small pack , rain gear, warm clothes , camera, water and other light luggage for an enjoyable experience .
